Teresa takes legit gorgeous pictures

I loved getting to do this mini with Teresa!  It's also super fun that she's good friends with my good friend, which in turn has made us good friends.  Our mini session started with a new dress, in a new location, on a pretty pleasant Feb morning.  Not feeling all that eloquent  right now, but all I really need to say is Teresa you rocked it!

Teresa's Q&A

When you realized you were pregnant, what was your first reaction and how did you tell your significant other?

Excited. I think I nonchalantly just told my husband.

Did you have any unusual food cravings?

Salad. I like salad just fine, but with this being baby #4, I know my usual cravings and salad just isn't one of them. Sadly blue cheese (yes, I break the rules) dressing was a huge trigger for my morning sickness so I had to find other dressings.

What did you like/dislike about being pregnant?

I liked knowing that at the end, I got this sweet little squish to love on forever ❤️

I disliked puking. All. The. Time., the hormones, the body aches and ailments and all the unsolicited advice.

Can you share your labor and delivery story with us?

I had contractions every couple of hours for FIVE DAYS! 😳 Went to my OB, got checked, was dialed to a 3, had them sweep my membranes, nothing happened. That was a Friday. Monday I went back since I was now over due. Still I was at a 3. Had my membranes swept again. That afternoon I started having stronger contractions. Went to the hospital about 5pm, got checked, I'm at a 3...AGAIN! 😳😡 Walked the hospital for an hour with contractions 2.5-3min apart, howling in pain, being offered wheel chairs by staff members. Went back to labor and delivery, was hooked back up to the monitors, contractions slowed to 5-6min apart. They checked me, I'm at a...wait for it...THREE. 🤦🏻‍♀️ They didn't want to admit me yet but didn't want to me to go home, 30 min away without traffic. I decided that we would go home because I didn't want to labor in the waiting area. We spent maybe an hour at home. My husband is watching tv and I'm rolling around in the couch and floor just trying to find relief through the contractions. I end up on the floor, bent around the ottoman and bit into it. It was then that I decided we needed to go back to the hospital. They take me to triage and check me again. Lo and behold, I'm at a THREE. 😡😡😡 At this point I'm BEGGING for a c-section because I am so done. I'm so far past done and I'm convinced he's never coming out. They decide to admit me because I'm obviously in pain. Ya think?!? 🤦🏻‍♀️ I get to my room, I take the Fetinol to take the edge off but within an hour it's wearing off and I decide to get the epidural. 30 min (maybe) into my epidural, I'm shaking. I asked the nurse if something was wrong with my epidural and she said no, you're in transition already. So basically I needed the Fetinol and epidural to relax my body so I could actually dilate. Go figure, my next check I'm at a SEVEN!!! Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus!!! After I finished dilating, we were just waiting for my waters to rupture. When they finally did, I pushed that 9# 13oz baby boy on out with ONE push. I don't even think you could have clocked that push. 😂 I was SO relieved it was done and he was in my arms. I didn't even care that he instantly started pooping all over us both. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Do you have any advice, tips, tricks, or something you wish you’d done differently during your pregnancy or L&D that you’d like to share?

Trust your body.

How did you choose your child’s name and what is one name that was close, but didn’t make the cut?

My mother in law suggested it actually. We just ended up loving it.

What trait, physical or otherwise, do you wish your child has inherited from you?

My need for cleanliness and organization.

What has been your favorite part of seeing your baby grow so far?

All of his smiles! 😍

If you were stranded with your kids, what are three things you’d hope you had on hand

Water, Gold fish and diaper wipes

What kids show do you wish you could eliminate so that no parent would ever have to sit through it again?

Currently, Dora the Explorer; though I'm sure there is worse out there.

Is there a food you think is really gross but you make your kids eat anyways because it’s good for them?

No. If I'm not willing to eat it why should they? There is plenty of foods out there that we all like that are good for us.

If there was one mom duty you wish you never had to do again, what would it be?

Just one? Cleaning the floors, but dishes are a very, very close second.

Tell us about one funny experience you’ve had with your new baby

The delivery nurse asking if he's ridden a bike yet. He was lifting his head just after delivery and latched and started nursing with basically no help. He nursed for a solid 30 min! The nurse was impressed with everything he could already do just moments after birth, hence her question.

What are you most looking forward to in the next year?

Just watching my whole family grow and bond together.
